I was really frustrated and pretty desperate with the painting. Layer after layer, second, third, I was never satisfied. I kept working on it and then I finally put it away.

Two weeks later I pulled it out again, lay down in front of it and asked myself what is your journey, what story do you want to tell, where do you want to go. And then out of nowhere it happened. I sat down, let go of all expectations and just started. In about an hour the painting was finished. It felt like it was coming through me, not from thinking but from allowing. It was exactly that Wu Wei principle, acting without acting.

Now I love this piece. It feels raw and real and it has a clarity I could not see before. When I look at it I remember the moment everything clicked and how good it feels when something works because you stop forcing it.
